“He took our infirmities and bore our
diseases.” (Matthew 8: 17b)

Each of us is created a precious and holy vessel of embodied love. We have
been through a harrowing time since last Lent that has shattered our sense
of wholeness– body, mind, and spirit–like a glass vessel fractured into
pieces. In this Lenten “season of recovery” for our physical, communal,
mental, intellectual, and environmental health, we will explore the
healing narratives of Jesus that tell of divine solidarity with human
suffering and remind us that we can begin a journey toward making
something beautiful from that which is seemingly broken.

Our
Lenten Devotional: "The Cup of Our Life" by Joyce
Rupp.
"With a new preface and fresh design, "The Cup of Our Life is for anyone seeking a more intimate
and disciplined life of prayer. Rupp illustrates how the ordinary cups
used each day can become sacred vessels that connect readers with life and
bring them into closer union with the Divine. She explores how the cup is
a rich symbol of life, with its emptiness and fullness, its brokenness and
flaws, and its many blessings. With daily devotions for six weeks, this
book is ideal for individual usage as well as group usage in parish
settings, religious communities, and small Christian communities."
The church has ordered 25 copies of this book so let the
church office know if you would like one. It also is
available for purchase in hardback, paperback or Kindle format from
Amazon, and as an audiobook from
christianaudio.com.
