Due to anticipated winter weather, the Epiphany Dinner has been postponed until Friday, January 24.

Midway Christian Church will celebrate the Feast of the Epiphany with our 18th Annual Epiphany Dinner at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, January 24, 2025.

The dinner is dine-in or carry-out and will feature the delicious Ouita Michel menu of Medieval fare that we’ve come to love since our first dinner was served in 2008!  Carry-out service begins at 5:30 p.m.

The dinner will be preceded by an Epiphany Progam in the sanctuary at 6:00 p.m. A pre-recorded program will be available on Facebook and YouTube for our carry-out guests.

The festive buffet includes:

•  Pide (crispy flat bread)
•  Shiraz bi-Buqual (medieval cheese and walnut dip)
•  Spelt Bread
•  Rosemary Roast Pork with Sausages
•  Mustard Sauce
•  Honey roasted chicken
•  Saffron rice pilaf
•  Carrot pudding with currants and dates
•  Sweet & Sour red cabbage
•  Salad of lettuces, fennel, mint, parsley, flowers, and egg
•  King cake

Dinners are $35 for adults, $20 for children 11-18 years, and free to children 10 and under. Note that although children 10 and under eat free, they still need a reservation. All sales are final. No refunds.

Christians have been celebrating Epiphany since the year 361 AD and in that tradition, and since January 6, 2008, Midway Christian Church hosts a Christian Feast each year during Three Kings Day on January 6.

Reflections on the Epiphany Dinner.

The menu, inspired by the feasting days of Christmastide during the Middle Ages (11th through 14th centuries), features a whole roast hog (to simulate the traditional Christmas boar’s head) along with honey roast chicken, olives, figs, dates, candied pine nuts, carrot pudding, confit of cabbage with lentils, saffron rice and other dishes representing the time period. As it was during this feast that King Cake was introduced, King Cake is served as dessert.

Typically, this meal is served in the Midway Christian Church Fellowship Hall by reservation only. During the COVID-19 pandemic years (2021-2022), curbside pickup and  carryout only was offered but the meal remained the same.
