Games in the Park May 17, 2008 The popular "Games in the Park" returns this year on May 17. Come to Walter Bradley Park at 3:00 for baseball, football, sidewalk chalk, jump rope, kickball, bubbles, visits with the Midway College horses, and anything else we can think of. Who knows, we may actually figure out what alligator tag is this year! The day will end with a picnic supper. Vaction Bible School June 23-25, 2008 Vacation Bible School 2008 plans are underway. This year our theme is “Beach Party: Surfin’ Through the Scriptures.” We want to have most of our volunteers together by the end of April. We need: kitchen crew registration decorating committee snacks Mission leader Craft leaders Bible Storyteller (with helpers) Assembly leaders Individual group leaders It takes a cast of thousands to make VBS a success. Talk to Amanda to get involved. We are still forming the ‘teams’ that will make this year’s VBS (June 23-25) another huge success. We are anticipating around 50 children and 25 adult volunteers participating from Midway Christian, Midway Presbyterian, Pilgrim Baptist, and Second Christian. Where do your talents lie? Crafts or snacks? Decorating or teaching? Small group leader or kitchen crew? Whatever you like to do, there is a place for you at this year’s “Beach Party.” Also, we are in need of people who can donate beach-related items to be used for decorating the church for VBS. These may be things such as: tents, umbrellas, beach and lifeguard chairs, fishing nets and poles, seashells, sand toys, surfboards, beach towels, etc. On Easter Sunday 2007, the congregation celebrated the Baptism of seven of our youth.
